Ancient ruins, high-altitude hikes, and some of the most unreal landscapes on the planet make this trip anything but ordinary. Over seven days, this adventure blends fitness, exploration, and culture, taking you through Cusco’s cobblestone streets, deep into the Sacred Valley, and up the legendary Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. Every day brings something new, like surreal towering salt flats, rainbow-colored mountains straight out of a painting, and glacier-fed lakes that feel too perfect to be real. Between the adrenaline rush of high-altitude treks and moments of connection with local communities, this experience is designed for travelers who crave movement, discovery, and a little bit of mystery. Ideal for those who live for epic views, good vibes, and the kind of stories that last a lifetime. Come along with us!
-Welcome to Cusco! You’re officially 11,000 feet above sea level, so take a deep breath (literally) and dive into the adventure. After landing at Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport (CUZ), we’ll meet up with the group and head to our stay.
-After check-in, we’re hitting the streets for a walking tour of Cusco, the former capital of the Inca Empire. Expect ancient Incan ruins, Spanish colonial architecture, and vibrant local energy.
-Tonight, we kick things off with a welcome dinner at Roots Cuisine and Coffee, a spot known for its fusion of Peruvian flavors with international twists. Cheers to great times ahead!
-Today, we’re heading deep into the Sacred Valley to explore two of Peru’s most fascinating historical sites. Our first stop is the Maras Salt Terraces, a mind-blowing patchwork of thousands of salt pools carved into the mountainside, still harvested using ancient Incan techniques.
-Next, we’ll visit Moray, a mysterious Incan agricultural lab. These massive circular terraces weren’t just built for aesthetics, but rather a system for experimenting with crops at different temperatures and altitudes.
-From there, we’ll connect with the Corcor community, a local highland village where we’ll learn about traditional Andean ways of life. Plus, for lunch we’ll be indulging in a Pachamanca feast, an ancient cooking ritual where meat, potatoes, and veggies are slow-cooked underground using hot stones.
-After returning to Cusco, enjoy another free night to explore your own way.
-We’re leveling up the adventure today! Enjoy breakfast before grabbing your bags and get ready for the next leg of our adventure.
-We’ll head to the train station, boarding the PeruRail Expedition Train for a scenic ride to km 104. There, we’ll hop off and hit the legendary Inca Trail.
-This historic hike treks past Wiñay Wayna, a stunning Incan ruin draped in greenery, before reaching the Sun Gate (Inti Punku), the iconic first glimpse of Machu Picchu. We’ll pause to take it all in (and snap some epic pics) before descending towards Aguas Calientes.
-After checking in, the rest of the night is schedule-free to explore at our own pace and rest once we’re ready.
-Today is the day! After an early breakfast, we hop on a shuttle and ascend to Machu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Hidden in the Andes for centuries, this ancient Incan citadel is straight out of a dream.
-Massive stone terraces, mist-covered peaks, and that signature postcard view greet you – are you impressed or what? A guided tour will unravel the mysteries of Machu Picchu, like how it was built without modern tools, the astronomical precision behind its structures, and the theories of why it was abandoned.
-By afternoon, we board the PeruRail Expedition Train back to Cusco, giving us one last scenic ride through the Sacred Valley.
-Check into the hotel, check out our digs, and then go forth into the night however you please. Hit the town, rest, or relive the magic of the day over a pisco sour at a nearby bar – the choice is yours!
-Time to push limits and take in some of Peru’s most surreal landscapes. We’re setting out on a full-day trek to Humantay Lake, a hidden gem high in the Andes. This hike is all about epic views and a solid fitness challenge – we’ll ascend through rugged mountain terrain, feeling the altitude, but trust us, the reward is worth it.
-At 13,779 feet, Humantay Lake stuns with its electric blue waters, backed by the towering, snow-capped Salkantay Mountain. The contrast of colors looks almost unreal! We’ll take time to breathe it all in and capture the moment before making our way back down.
-Back in town, you’re the author of your adventure from here. Has anything caught your eye you haven’t explored yet? Let’s go!
-Another day, another high-altitude masterpiece. Lace up for a full-day trek to Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca), one of Peru’s most unreal landscapes. This hike is a test of endurance, but every step brings you closer to one of the most mind-blowing natural wonders on Earth.
-The mountain’s deep reds, golds, greens, and purples come from mineral-rich sediment, creating a natural rainbow effect that looks straight out of a sci-fi movie. Along the way, expect breathtaking Andean scenery, roaming alpacas, and maybe even a glimpse of Ausangate, the Sacred Mountain of the Incas.
-Back in Cusco, there’s time to refresh and unwind before our farewell dinner at Nuna Raymi, a restaurant that specializes in authentic, farm-to-table Peruvian cuisine. It’s the perfect way to toast to an epic week of exploration, adventure, and pushing our self-imposed limits.
-Celebrate, reminisce, or just soak up the vibes during our last night here in Peru.
-After an unforgettable week of trekking, exploring, and discovering the magic of the Andes, it’s time to say hasta luego to Peru. After breakfast, we’ll check out and head to Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport (CUZ) for our departures.
-This journey hasn’t been just a trip, but a challenge, a thrill, and a deep dive into ancient history and culture. Until the next adventure, safe travels!
