Hey there, I'm Justin! I'm an outdoor enthusiast and adventure seeker who loves exploring the wild, pushing boundaries, and discovering hidden gems off the beaten path. Whether it’s hiking, camping, or overlanding, I believe the best experiences come from immersing ourselves in nature.

One of my favorite adventures was Expedition Overlook 2022, a 10-day overlanding journey through the remote American Southwest. With no hotels, no restaurants—just 8 people, 5 rigs, and the open road—we camped, cooked, and explored epic spots like Monument Valley, Zion, the Grand Canyon, and Moab’s Top of the World.

I’ve also traveled to Japan, The Bahamas, Mexico, Costa Rica, and all across the U.S. If you're ready to embark on an unforgettable journey, join me on this next adventure!

Volcanoes, Waterfalls & Wildlife Expedition 2026
Adventure meets paradise on this epic five-day journey packed with jungle hikes, waterfall swims, and breathtaking volcano views. Staying in prime locations near Rincón de la Vieja and Arenal Volcano, you'll explore hanging bridges high in the rainforest, trek across ancient lava fields, soak in steamy hot springs, and come face-to-face with Costa Rica’s legendary wildlife.

Guided hikes, thrilling night walks, and a hidden waterfall inside a cave ensure every day is an adrenaline rush—balanced by laid-back moments like sipping fresh-brewed coffee grown on the land you traverse and tasting rich, locally made chocolate from bean to bar.

Designed for adventure seekers, nature lovers, and culture enthusiasts, this trip takes you beyond the postcards into the heart of Costa Rica’s wild beauty. Each stop offers a new way to connect with the land, while still leaving room for spontaneous moments, unforgettable views, and plenty of pura vida energy.

Join us for the adventure of a lifetime!

Day 1 · February 25, 2026
Welcome to paradise

-Your Costa Rican journey has finally arrived! Touch down at Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport (LIR) and connect with the group for the first time to catch our transfer to our accommodation tucked away in Rincón de la Vieja.

-Once we are checked in and settled, the rest of the day is yours. You might opt for an afternoon hike for a swim in the picturesque Red Pond, an light .75-mile walk down from our hotel, to get your first taste of Costa Rica's nature.

-Want to shake off the travel fatigue? Chill by the pool, wander the scenic grounds, or soak up the sounds of the jungle. This is just the beginning!

Day 2 · February 26, 2026
Waterfall treks before La Fortuna’s embrace

-Hidden within Rincón de la Vieja National Park, La Leona Waterfall’s jungle trek is part Indiana Jones, part paradise. You’ll wade through rivers, scramble over rocks, and weave through lush rainforest before reaching the grand finale – the stunning blue waterfall tucked inside a cave. It’s the definition of “worth it.”

-After lunch, we hit the road toward La Fortuna, home to the iconic Arenal Volcano. This drive is all about the views, like rolling green hills, tiny roadside towns, and maybe even a few sloths hanging out in the trees.

-Check in, settle down, and then the rest of the day is free for the taking. Enjoy!

Day 3 · February 27, 2026
The sky’s the limit

-Wake up to the sight of Arenal Volcano and fuel up for a day packed with epic nature and adventure. First stop: Mistico Hanging Bridges Park, a trek through the treetops where you’ll walk across suspension bridges hanging high in the canopy. This is your chance to see the rainforest from a whole new perspective.

-Next up is La Fortuna Waterfall, a true showstopper in the heart of the forest. A 230-foot cascade plunging into a crystal-clear jungle pool, perfect for a refreshing dip once we reach its terminus.

-Following lunch, we are melting into pure relaxation mode at Ecotermales Hot Springs. These natural, mineral-rich pools are heated by Arenal’s volcanic activity, creating the ultimate jungle spa experience. Let the warm waters work their magic before indulging in a buffet dinner surrounded by the sounds of the rainforest.

-Once we’ve sufficiently soaked, it’s back to the hotel for a schedule-free night full of possibilities.

Day 4 · February 28, 2026
The grand finale

-Another day, another adventure! We’ll begin with a hike through Arenal Volcano 1968 Park. This trail takes you across old lava flows from Arenal’s legendary 1968 eruption, with insane views of the volcano and surrounding rainforest. It’s a raw, rugged landscape, with a mix of lush greenery and hardened volcanic rock, reminding you of nature’s power.

-Next up, we switch gears for a coffee, chocolate, and sugar cane farm tour. Costa Rica isn’t just about adventure – it’s also about flavor, and we’re getting to know some of its star exports up close and personal.

-After lunch and some chill-out time back at the hotel, we’re exploring a brand new way – after dark. The Danaus Ecological Park night walk is a chance to see Costa Rica’s nocturnal creatures in action. Flashlights in hand, we’ll search for glowing frogs, camouflaged snakes, lazy sloths, and creepy-cool insects, all the cool critters you can only catch once the sun sets.

-Back at the hotel, enjoy dinner and soak in the last night in La Fortuna, toasting to great times shared, memories made, and a new group of explorer pals.

Day 5 · March 1, 2026
Hasta luego!

-After one last Costa Rican breakfast, it’s time to pack up and say so long to this adventure-packed paradise. A group transfer will take us back to Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport (LIR), where we’ll continue our travels (whether it's home or to our next adventure).

-Costa Rica has a way of calling you back – see you on the next adventure!
