Hello! I'm Melissa, a trauma-informed yoga teacher, mindfulness coach, and healing practitioner. After 25 years in account management and sales, I decided to follow my passion and founded Moon Guidance Embodiment. I specialize in creating a safe space for healing and transformation, drawing on my training as a Reiki Master, Breathwork Facilitator, and Sound Healer. I offer compassionate support for individuals of all ages. My mission is to empower others to reconnect with their bodies, minds, and spirits, facilitating self-discovery and inner healing. Our program includes enchanting nature hikes to local wonders like the Uvita Waterfall and the stunning Whale’s Tail Beach at Marino Ballena National Park. To further stimulate your creative energy, partake in our Sacred Art series with hands-on workshops of all kinds. The retreat also features yoga sessions, sound baths, and breathwork sessions, ensuring your body and mind align harmoniously which complement special ceremonies, like a Reiki Fire Ceremony and a Cacao ceremony.

Cancellation policy

TourHero, the retreat host, and the tour operator reserve the right to cancel or reschedule this trip up until February 1, 2024. If the departure is cancelled out of your control, you will be alerted by February 1, 2024 and will receive a full refund.

In this case, TourHero is not responsible for your preparation expenses, such as airline tickets, extra accommodations, loss of work, or any other cost associated with preparing for your trip. We recommend booking travel insurance, along with refundable flights/accommodations in case of cancellation.

Refunds for deposits
We will hold your spot as soon as you put down your deposit. However, if you decide to cancel your trip, we will be unable to refund your deposit.

Refunds for fully-paid trips
You may change or cancel your trip up until February 1, 2024 for a refund, excluding the deposit amount. After that time, no refunds will be issued.

Trip cancellation due to COVID-19
A full credit will be issued if the tour is canceled when there is full border closure due to COVID-19 travel restrictions. This credit can go towards booking a future TourHero tour. Day 1 · May 5, 2024

FIRE

Your transformative experience begins as you arrive at SJO airport, where the real world and its demands will start to feel distant. Our dedicated team will welcome you warmly and assist with your group transfer to the serenity of our retreat center. Once you reach Synergy, a sense of calm and rejuvenation will wash over you as you're introduced to the beautiful surroundings that will be your sanctuary for the next few days. After check-in, enjoy some free time to settle into your accommodations, explore the verdant grounds, or relax by the pool.

As the evening draws near, we invite you to join us for a welcome dinner, where you'll meet your fellow retreat attendees. This meal will be a feast for the senses, setting the tone for the creativity and wellness you will experience throughout your stay.

Following dinner, the heart of your journey begins. In the warm glow of a fire, Jan and Melissa will lead a unique Reiki Fire Ceremony. This creative intention-setting experience serves as an opportunity to open your heart and mind, and to set the stage for profound personal and creative transformation. Guided by these experienced practitioners, you'll channel the energy around you and set clear intentions for your retreat. Day 2 · May 6, 2024

EARTH

Prepare for a day filled with nourishment, creativity, and inner exploration at our wellness retreat. Your morning begins with a delightful breakfast, where you'll find an array of wholesome, locally sourced options. From here, the day progresses with the 'Knots & Gems' Mala Workshop, part of our Sacred Art series. This hands-on, interactive session invites you to connect with your inner artist and create something unique and meaningful. Under gentle guidance, you'll learn to create your own mala – a spiritual tool steeped in tradition – using gems that resonate with your energy. Following this creative experience, it's time to harmonize your body and mind with a yoga session led by Melissa. Melissa's compassionate and inclusive approach ensures you'll feel comfortable and nurtured.

As your morning transitions into afternoon, you’ll be treated to a breathwork session with Melissa that will be complemented by either a sound bath or Reiki session from Jan. These modalities aim to release stagnant energy and blocks that are standing in the way of your creative flow. From here, enjoy some much earned free time to hang by the pool or book a massage.

The day culminates with a transformative cacao ceremony and Shamanic Journey at the firepit, led by Jan. This powerful, heart-opening ceremony combines the use of ceremonial cacao with shamanic journeying, guiding you to connect more deeply with your own intuition and inner wisdom. As you sit by the fire, under the stars, you'll not just reflect on the day, but dive deep into the realm of self-discovery and personal growth. Release what no longer serves you, and allow the sacred energy of the land to open your heart and mind.

Day 3 · May 7, 2024

WATER

Start your day with a delightful breakfast, surrounded by the serene beauty of Synergy. Shortly after, prepare for a revitalizing hike in the heart of nature. Jan will lead you to the mesmerizing Uvita Waterfall, a location renowned for its breathtaking scenery. Once there, immerse yourself in the soothing sounds of cascading water and the scent of lush greenery as you participate in a profound Chakra Meditation session. Guided by Jan, you'll explore and align the energy centers of your body, a process further enhanced by the inspiring natural surroundings.

Upon returning from the hike, engage in the 'One with Nature' workshop, a part of our Sacred Art series. Embrace your creativity and connection to Mother Earth as you create a unique piece of art using natural elements.

As the evening draws in, a hearty and nourishing dinner will be served. Mingle with your fellow participants, sharing stories and experiences from your day. Finally, we’ll close our day with an Evening Reiki Circle, led by both Jan and Melissa. This ceremony allows you to exchange energy and experience the healing power of collective intention and connection. Whether you are new to Reiki or an experienced practitioner, this circle offers a chance to deepen your understanding of energy healing while strengthening the bonds with your retreat community. With an open heart and flowing energy, you are free to create.

Day 4 · May 8, 2024

AIR

As morning dawns, start your day with a hearty breakfast, lovingly prepared with the freshest ingredients. After, we'll embark on an excursion to the exquisite Marino Ballena National Park, home to the iconic Whale’s Tail Beach. Here, the rhythmic sound of the waves and the majestic beauty of the landscape serve as powerful reminders of our deep connection with nature. Enjoy some leisurely beach time, engage in mindful walking, or simply bask in the sun.

Back at the resort, we’ll enjoy lunch then delve into the world of spontaneous expression with our 'Freestyle' workshop, part of the Sacred Art series. Whether you want to paint, draw, sculpt or collage, this is your chance to let your creativity flow unrestricted. With no specific end product in mind, the process itself becomes the art. From here, you'll have some free time to unwind by the pool, soaking up the sun's warm rays or dipping into the cool, inviting water.

Post-dinner and some free time, we’ll gather for a deeply moving Closing Ceremony. Beginning with a gentle yoga session to soothe your body and mind, we’ll transition into a Shamanic Journey. This spiritual exploration will guide you inward, helping to consolidate the experiences and insights you've gained during the retreat.

Day 5 · May 9, 2024

LOVE

As morning breaks, gather in unity and reflection with your fellow retreat-goers for our Closing Circle. In this sacred space, we'll share a Visionary Meditation, an opportunity to look inward and forward, celebrating the growth you've experienced and envisioning the path you wish to take beyond our time together. Following this harmonious start, delight in a final breakfast at Synergy before packing up and completing the check-out process from your accommodations. From here, take your transfer to the airport to catch your flight.

As your journey comes to an end, remember the practices you've learned, the creativity you've explored, and the love you've discovered within yourself are gifts that you can carry forward into your daily life.
