Hey y’all! I’m Alyse, a travel and food content creator and writer. I love exploring new places and learning about their culture and cuisine! Plus, I’m currently on a journey of trying things for the first time, like surfing and skiing, and I want to help others get out of their comfort zone and try them with me.
I want to take you with me to Medellin, Colombia, so we can do all of those things while also learning about their Black community and saving some time for self-care. Will you join me?
This journey pulses with the vibrant rhythm of Medellín a city once marked by its past, now thriving as a beacon of creativity, transformation, and bold energy. Over five unforgettable days, you’ll scale the iconic heights of El Peñol, glide across Guatapé’s sparkling waters, and immerse yourself in the powerful storytelling of Comuna 13’s street art, each mural echoing tales of resilience and rebirth. From savoring world-class cuisine at the Michelin-starred El Cielo to exploring the underground currents of Medellín’s rising cultural scene, this trip is made for the bold-hearted. And with Valentine’s Day as our backdrop, it’s your perfect excuse to whisk someone special away or simply fall in love with the city’s romance on your own terms. Every colorful wall, every skyline view, every heartbeat of the City of Eternal Spring is an invitation to feel, explore, and create. So what’s holding you back?
-Touch down in the City of Eternal Spring, where vibrant streets, lush green hills, and that contagious Colombian energy greet you right off the plane.
-Our private transfer will scoop us up and bring us to our stylish hotel.
-The evening kicks off with a welcome dinner at Carmen, one of Medellín’s most celebrated restaurants. This is no basic first-night meal. We’re diving into a curated menu that fuses Colombian ingredients with world-class technique. It’s the perfect way to toast the journey ahead with your new travel fam.
-Today we’re diving into the complexities of Medellín’s past and the beauty of its transformation.
-We’ll start with a Pablo Escobar tour that will give us greater appreciation of how the city has rebuilt itself from its painful history.
-Then, it’s off to Comuna 13, once one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in the world, now a vibrant canvas of street art, breakdancing, and resilience.
-You’ll get to hear stories from locals and see how the power of community, music, and art has reshaped this barrio into a symbol of hope.
-After some free time to recharge, we’ll regroup for dinner at Oci.mde, a chic spot known for its elevated Colombian cuisine with bold, unexpected flavors.
-You’ve got the whole day to create your own adventure and, trust me, Medellín has options.
-Whether you want to sip Colombian coffee in a cozy café, head to a local market for souvenirs, explore a museum, or maybe even book a spa day for some self-care (you deserve it), the city’s yours to explore.
-As the sun sets, we’ll glam it up a bit and head to El Cielo, a multi-sensory fine dining experience where each dish is like a little performance. Four wines are included, so yes, it’s giving chef’s kiss energy all around.
-Ready for a day trip that looks straight out of a postcard? We’re off to Guatapé, known for its colorful buildings, charming alleys, and jaw-dropping views.
-First stop: El Peñol, a giant granite rock with 740 steps to the top, offering panoramic views of lakes and lush hills that’ll leave you speechless.
-After a delicious local lunch, we’ll hop on a boat ride across the calm waters, soaking in all that serenity.
-Back in Medellín, we’ll gather one last time for a farewell dinner at Restaurante La Provincia, the kind of cozy-elegant spot that wraps up our trip with great conversation, gourmet food, and all the feels.
-After breakfast, it’s time to say see-you-later to Medellín (we don’t do goodbyes here!).
-Our private transfer will get you to the airport with plenty of time to reflect on everything we experienced — from meaningful stories and vibrant culture to delicious eats and new friendships.
-I hope this was more than just a trip to you. I hope it was the spark that lights up our next adventure together!
