In my retreats I give my clients a practical toolbox to lose weight. I provide them with all the knowledge and the skills to support their weight loss goals. My retreat will combine the 4 essential ingredients required to lose weight. This includes Nutrition, Exercise, Mindset and Relaxation.
I completed my Masters Degree in Exercise & Sport Psychology and I am a qualified NLP practitioner. I studied Nutrition and I am also a qualified aerobics instructor, personal trainer and massage therapist. I ran a very successful weight loss clinic for 5 years, working with thousands of clients to lose weight. This was an incredible experience, sharing their challenges and celebrating their successes. I am so grateful to each of my clients for inspiring me to set up Nourish and Thrive, where I run weight loss retreats.

Your journey to weight loss begins at Nourish and Thrive, a thoughtfully curated retreat which embodies every element involved in weight loss. Our goal is to provide you with a practical toolbox, so you can realistically learn how to lose weight and most importantly, keep it off. Our retreat will include:
-A Cookery Demonstration where you will learn to batch cook and also get some delicious recipes for meals and snacks.
-A Psychology / Mindset Workshop to help you combat limiting beliefs. You will also learn how to change your bad habits, in order to control unhealthy eating patterns.
-A Nutrition Seminar to understand how to build a healthy plate for weight loss and how to prepare a weekly food plan.
You will also enjoy our spectacular landscape and participate in outdoor Exercises, including a group hike, some horseback riding, and a yoga session. Finally unwind in our outdoor or indoor swimming pool, relax in your luxurious studio and enjoy an outdoor sunset on your private terrace. Enjoy a delicious meal where we have our own garden and our delicious farm-to-table meals. Finally, attend one of our Meditation sessions to relax and settle the mind. We look forward to meeting you.
Welcome to Portugal! We are glad you made the journey to this beautiful country where we’ll tackle health, wellness, and weight loss together. Make your way to this luxury property in São Teotónio, a charming coastal area with mountains, beaches, and everything in between. After we get settled, we’ll enjoy a welcome workshop to get to know everyone and explore our goals for this weight loss journey. We will set Intentions for our retreat and each do a Vision Board. Then finish out the night with a group dinner, toasting to a stellar retreat ahead.
Rise and shine to a beautiful day in Portugal’s countryside. After a delicious breakfast overlooking the property, we’ll get together for our first cooking workshop. Ruth will teach you about batch cooking and creating nutritious snacks and soups for weight loss. From here, we’ll break for lunch, then enjoy a group hike with a local guide who will take us to all the hidden gems in the area. Put your exploring shoes on and grab your camera! We’ll head back to the property to freshen up and enjoy another sumptuous meal at the farmhouse before free time, where you can take a dip in the pool, relax next to a bonfire, or enjoy some privacy on your studio’s terrace. We’ll finish the evening with a short Meditation session to help you sleep and unwind.
Wake up to another beautiful day, watching the sun make its way up into the sky over breakfast. Today’s workshop will focus on the principles of nutrition for weight loss, which is geared towards long-term change. Ruth will help you understand what makes a healthy plate and how to prepare and design a weekly food plan. After a delightful lunch, we’ll take a horseback ride overlooking the Atlantic Coast, bringing us closer to nature and the beauty of the planet. Once we return to the property, the night is yours to enjoy the luxury of Craveiral. After dinner we’ll have a Meditation session to help you relax and sleep.
Today Ruth will help you understand your mind more and how limiting beliefs can prevent you from losing weight. This workshop is centered on how our habits and emotions can trigger us to overeat. We will learn the tools to identify and control emotional eating to help us gain control over our diets and mindsets. We will have ample free time after our workshop to enjoy the property and we will close out the evening with a yoga session and dinner. Today is about reclaiming our bodies and minds, while we enjoy the beauty of Craveiral. We will end the day with a brief Meditation session.
It’s our last day in Portugal, but the fun isn’t over yet!, After an early morning cycle and breakfast, Ruth will teach us how to batch cook healthy and delicious lunches and dinners geared towards weight loss. This is the final step on our wellness journey, filling our toolkit with everything we need to succeed once we return home. Here we will say goodbye to new friends and head to the airport to catch our flights. We hope you had a stellar experience and wish you well on your weight loss journey. Safe travels!
