This day will be filled with picture-perfect moments as you explore the wonders of Mazunte. Make sure that camera battery is charged for the first stop at the National Mexican Turtle Center where you’ll learn about the sea turtle population of Mazunte and their history. Next, we’ll venture to La Ventanilla Lagoon where we’ll take a magical boat ride through the beautiful waters, looking out for birds, crocodiles, and so much more. Then, we’ll head to Punta Cometa to explore the diverse ecosystem and unparalleled ocean views. Take your time to soak it all in as we make our way to the top of the rocks where we’ll enjoy a snack and the vistas. The day ends with a 20-minute hike to the highest point in Mazunte where you’ll enjoy 180-degree views of the horizon for the perfect sunset pics. With so much beauty at every turn, you’ll go to bed with a full heart and full camera roll.
Rise and shine to another majestic morning in Mazunte! Today is a free day to explore as you please. Spend the day at the beach or book an excursion on this Oaxacan adventure. Take an ATV jungle tour and discover the hidden beauty deep within trees or go rafting on the Copalita River and appreciate nature while maneuvering through level 2 rapids. Whether you want to bum around the town, check out the ecological cosmetics factory, or get wild with some physical activities, we’ll meet back up in the afternoon and head to our next destination.
Pack your bags and head to Puerto Escondido where we’ll check into the hostel and explore another beach town in Oaxaca. This trendy accommodation features a chic pool and various community spaces for meeting new friends and taking IG-worthy pics. Grab dinner in town and enjoy another picturesque sunset on the coastline.
Grab a hearty breakfast and prepare for a day of excitement as we make our way to a nearby village for a tour on horseback. Journey through the jungle and across the river of corn where you’ll witness the economic heart of Puerto Escondido in the form of livestock, papaya, coconut, corn, and peanuts. Passing the mangroves and diverse wildlife, you’ll arrive at Manialtepec Lagoon where the locals will help you boat across to Puerto Suelo beach. This untouched piece of heaven will give you the perfect spot to watch the sunset over the crystal sea as you sip a complimentary glass of mezcal. After an adventurous day, return to Selina and reflect on all the fun you’ve had this week.

Your journey begins a few minutes from Huatulco Bays where you’ll learn how to operate the ATV equipment and practice in a safe space. From here, your guide will take you on a 22 km route that will explore various parts of the jungle culminating at a rest stop where you can cool off in the Copalita River. This adventure is over two hours of fun that you won’t find anywhere else!
Journey down the Copalita River featuring level two rapids that will give you a thrill with plenty of breaks to hear about the surroundings from your guide. Check out the diverse wildlife of the area and enjoy the excitement of the river rushing beneath the raft as you paddle through the vast expanse of the Oaxacan jungle.
Take a night trip to the Manialtepec lagoon to experience the bioluminescent glow of the phytoplankton. This chemical reaction is produced to ward off predators creating an other-worldly spectacle. The night starts with a boat ride and ends with a magical scene on the water, however, the intensity of the glow is completely dependent upon the magic of nature, but the boat ride alone will be enough to spark joy and wonder.
Puerto Escondido is a small surf town that wants to teach you how to ride a wave! Whether it’s your first time or you’ve tried surfing before, take a lesson with the pros in a place that’s made for beginners. The surf shop will lend you a lycra suit and a board and will give you a 40-minute technical lesson before getting in the water. This leaves you an hour and twenty minutes of waves to pick up the rhythm and the flow of the sea!
