Hello everyone! My name is Jess, and I am 25 years old, originally from the Bay Area, CA. I am currently in Denver for Physical Therapy school. In my free time, I love to travel and spend time in the outdoors! For this trip, I would love to do a little mix of sight seeing and hiking through the Swiss Alps. If you are interested in joining, I would love to find a fun group to travel with!
Switzerland is known for its idyllic setting with majestic mountain ranges, lush alpine valleys, and vibrant cities. On this trip, you’ll get to see a little bit of everything as you make your way from Zürich to Zermatt. You’ll start this Swiss adventure with a night in Zürich to enjoy the shops, the architecture, and the food. From here, take the train to Lucerne where you’ll enjoy hiking, boat cruises, and killer mountain views. Next, make your way to Interlaken to hike the Swiss Alps and explore this quaint town. You’ll finish up the trip in the heavenly village of Zermatt where you’ll get to see the iconic Matterhorn. If you’re a nature-lover, hiking is your thing, and you want some of the best pictures you can take, this is the trip for you!
Welcome to Zürich, Switzerland’s largest city, known as a global center for finance and sought-out for its picturesque mountain backdrop. Here, you’ll find a mix of new and historic, where Old Town (Alstadt) and the modern downtown intersect to form a bustling atmosphere and architectural delight. Get checked into the hotel and spend the rest of the day exploring. The Limmat River divides the city and is the perfect location to see it all. Take a boat cruise and enjoy the idyllic sights from every angle. For the nature-lovers in your group, check out the Old Botanical Gardens, located in the center of town and walking distance from your hotel. The garden was established in 1837 and features a large collection of exotic and old trees, along with walking paths and greenhouses. From high-end fare in the financial district to quaint bars and restaurants in Alstadt, you’ll find something to pique your interest at every turn. Enjoy your first night in this beautiful place!
Good morning, adventurers! We have a big day of activities in store for you. Grab a hearty breakfast at the hotel, pack up, and head to the train station. Today, you’ll take the train to Lucerne, a small city surrounded by snow-capped mountains and known for its Medieval architecture. Here, you’ll find a 14th century rampart and the Chapel Bridge, which was built in 1333. Upon arrival, you’ll take a boat cruise on Lake Lucerne, the perfect opportunity to fill your camera roll. When the boat docks, you’ll take the cogwheel train up Mount Rigi where you can enjoy views of the lake and the alps. In this picturesque spot with vistas for miles, enjoy a hike and some lunch before taking the cable car back down to the bottom. Ride the boat back to Lucerne and spend the rest of your day and night enjoying the city. We recommend stopping by the Chapel Bridge, the Water Tower, and the Lion Monument.
Today, you get to cross an iconic activity off your bucket list after you hike in the Swiss Mountains! After breakfast, you’ll pack up and take the train from Lucerne to Interlaken, where you’ll use your detailed itinerary to enjoy a self-guided hiking tour in one of the most pristine places in the world. Once you’ve completed your hike, head into town, check into your hotel, and enjoy the area. Interlaken is a quintessential resort town built in a narrow valley surrounded by mountains, alpine meadows, and dense forests. People come here from all over the world to hike and ski! In your free time, enjoy the views from the Harder Kulm, take a trip to the St. Beatus Cave and Waterfalls, or go back in time with a visit to the hamlet of Unterseen. This little town has a lot to offer, so live it up in Interlaken!
Rise and shine for another day of fun! After breakfast, pack up and take the train to Zermatt, one of Switzerland’s most beautiful places that’s known for its iconic Matterhorn peak. Here, you can travel up to Klein Matterhorn on the Gornergrat railway to see the emblematic structure. After exploring the mountains, head back down and enjoy the boutique shops, restaurants, and vibrant après-ski scene. From ice skating to curling, you can do it all in this charming area. This is your last night in Switzerland, so make it count!
Can you believe this incredible trip has come to an end? After four magical days in the mountains of Switzerland, it’s time to head home. Enjoy one last meal at your hotel and some free time in town before making your way to the train station. You’ll take the train from Zermatt to the Zürich Airport and board your return flight home. We hope this journey was one for the books and that you’ll travel with us again! Be well!
