Julie Smerdon has been sharing yoga, meditation, and inspiration for over 2 decades. Privileged to have studied under master teachers in both yoga and meditation, Julie offers these practices as a means to inspire people to cultivate a richer experience of life.
In her 10+ years as founder of Shri Yoga, Julie earned an Australia-wide reputation as a world-class yoga and meditation teacher, leading her studio to the forefront of the Australian Yoga scene. Her teacher trainings have produced some of Brisbane’s best-loved yoga instructors.
Having earned certifications in multiple movement disciplines, Julie’s extensive knowledge of biomechanics and therapeutics led to her work with Cricket Australia. Julie has been featured in Australian Yoga Journal, Australian Yoga Life, and Style Magazine.

Join me at Bali’s stunning Bagus Jati Resort for 6 days of nourishing yoga, meditation, and self-care. Nestled amongst 4 hectares of mountainside gardens, Bagus Jati feels like another world, far away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud. This will be a time of deep connection and growth in a breathtaking setting, surrounded by lush forests, exquisite gardens, and wide open skies.
This retreat is all about YOU. Each morning will begin with yoga, followed by a sumptuous breakfast together. Late afternoons will find us back on the mat enjoying restorative yoga or meditation as the sun sets. The middle of the day will be free for a luscious spa treatment, a swim, or an excursion. We’ll gather together in the evenings for a gourmet dinner.
Last but not least, Bagus Jati is the home of one of Bali’s premier Ayurvedic spas, providing services from massages and facials, to a full menu of delicious Ayurvedic treatments.

You’ll be spending your time a world away from the crowds and tourists at the tranquil Bagus Jati Resort, a retreat surrounded by lush mountainside forests. Upon arriving at Ngurah Rai International Airport, you’ll be whisked away to your tropical paradise in an air-conditioned bus. After checking in, get settled and enjoy a welcome ceremony and community dinner with your group. Get to know your fellow retreat companions and celebrate the start of this transformative journey together.
Rise and shine — we hope you had a restful sleep. We’ll start the day with a morning yoga session. This is a time for you to reconnect with yourself through breath and movement. Afterward, we'll replenish with a delicious breakfast, much of the food at Bagus Jati is grown onsite! There will be free time until lunch where you can take a walk through the beautiful gardens, have a massage or an Ayurvedic treatment at the spa, or read a book in your chalet or by the pool! There’s even a free shuttle to take you to Ubud if you want to experience the shops and cafes, and a selection of excursions to choose from if you’re looking for a little adventure.
We’ll have lunch together in the dining room, and then more free time until our afternoon session, which will be either Restorative Yoga or Meditation. We’ll meet in the dining room for dinner to finish the day together.

Day 5 will flow like the other days EXCEPT that after dinner we will have a fire ceremony to close our time together. This is the perfect day for you to take advantage of any excursions, treatments, or relaxation time you want to experience before you head home.
We've come to the final day of the retreat, and hope you have had a wonderful journey replenishing body, mind, and spirit in beautiful Bali. We’ll enjoy one final community breakfast together before it’s time to leave the hotel behind and depart for the airport. Travel safely!
