A space to write, to listen, and to reconnect with your work, with the land, and with each other — that's what this retreat is about. I invite all writers seeking new sources of inspiration into a quiet, generative rhythm in Tulum. Your days will look like this: mornings of stillness and quiet time, afternoons of thoughtful workshops and shared insight, and evenings shaped by story, ritual, and conversation. We'll settle in with an opening circle to ground into the space before launching into days designed to unlock new potential and fill your well of inspiration. Look forward to independent writing blocks, themed workshops on finding your voice and structuring narratives, and daily group check-ins to reflect and recalibrate. A silent forest walk and a heart-opening cacao ceremony offer sensory inspiration beyond the page, while an open studio invites creative exploration through collage, journaling, or visual storytelling. We’ll close with shared readings, toasts, and a celebration of the stories that surfaced. This retreat is not about writing more, but about writing with presence. Come join us.
-Welcome to Tulum, where ancient Mayan energy meets Caribbean sea breeze. As you arrive and settle into the serene setting of our retreat, you'll be invited to soften into stillness and begin letting go of the pace you've left behind.
-We’ll gather for our opening circle at dusk, a time for setting intentions, connecting with fellow creatives, and grounding into the lush rhythms of our temporary home.
-As the evening unfolds, we’ll share a welcome dinner under the stars, a first taste of what it means to create, together.
-Our first full day opens a morning meeting to align minds and set the tone.
-The day is designed for spacious focus: morning and afternoon writing blocks offer time to tune into your project, while our first workshop, 'Finding Your Voice on the Page,' invites you to explore new ways of expressing your inner landscape.
-As the sun lowers, we gather fireside with our writer-in-residence for stories, questions, and quiet camaraderie. It's a day to begin listening to the page, yourself, and each other.
-This day is about immersion — in your writing, body, and the natural world.
-After focused solo time to deepen your work, we’ll move into an evening of reflection through a silent forest walk and a guided meditation designed to still your mind. Tulum’s landscapes offer more than scenery. They are collaborators, calling your imagination into motion and helping you remove blockages in creativity and expression.
-With your sensory memory set in motion, you'll carry nature's inspiration from the forest back to the page.
--Today, we hone in on the craft of storytelling. Our second workshop, 'Narrative Structure for Impact,'' explores the architecture of story — how to hold your reader, build emotional resonance, and make meaning from the raw.
-As dusk nears, we gather for a cacao ceremony. Rooted in indigenous Mesoamerican tradition, cacao ceremonies are a heart-opening practice meant to stir deep intention.
-In the warm glow of ceremony, words flow from a different place. They are softer, wilder, and more true.
-This is a day for stillness and surprising breakthroughs. Long, uninterrupted writing sessions allow you to go deeper into the narrative you've been nurturing.
-Our open studio invites intuitive exploration through journaling, collage, vision boarding, or shared creative play. These unstructured hours are where unexpected clarity can surface, giving shape to new ideas and revealing layers of your story you didn’t know existed.
-Our final full day is both sacred and celebratory. The morning is dedicated to polishing the work that wants to be shared, and the afternoon gives space for final reflections and preparation.
-Then, in our closing circle, we read. Each voice is held in the glow of community, each story received with constructive critique and celebration. Whether it’s a chapter, a poem, or a paragraph, this is the moment to speak what’s been forming inside you.
-The evening culminates in a festive dinner and heartfelt toasts. It's a joyful send-off to the words and friendships that have bloomed in Mexico.
-We close our retreat with a final shared breakfast, holding the quiet magic of what we've created.
-As we check out and travel back to the rhythms of daily life, know that your words (and the energy of this community) travel with you.
-I hope this retreat has helped you find new possibilities and potential in your stories, and you'll return home with a pen that never stops conjuring worlds that flourish in your hearts and minds.
