Day 1
Welcome to Mazunte, Oaxaca — a place to rest, relax and reset in nature
Welcome to Mazunte, known for its abundant sea turtle population, quiet beaches, and lush jungle foliage. From the moment you arrive at Posada del Arquitecto, you’ll be immersed in nature at this eco-friendly lodging. Situated on a hill, look out from the balcony over the turquoise waters and enjoy a quick walk to the beach to soak in that sun. After check-in, hop in the bay, have a cold drink at the bar, and get ready to meet your fellow travelers at the welcome dinner. Tonight’s meal at Cenzontle will feature food for all with a selection of artisanal burgers, tacos, and beers, with numerous vegetarian/vegan options. Make new friends as you watch the sunset from the terrace and let the laid-back vibes of this tropical paradise take over.
Day 2
Nature lovers and sunset seekers unite on a wildlife immersion tour and sunset hike on the cliffs
This day will be filled with picture-perfect moments as you explore the wonders of Mazunte. Make sure that camera battery is charged for the first stop at the National Mexican Turtle Center where you’ll learn about the sea turtle population of Mazunte and their history. Next, we’ll venture to La Ventanilla Lagoon where we’ll take a magical boat ride through the beautiful waters, looking out for birds, crocodiles, and so much more. Then, we’ll head to Punta Cometa to explore the diverse ecosystem and unparalleled ocean views. Take your time to soak it all in as we make our way to the top of the rocks where we’ll enjoy a snack and the vistas. The day ends with a 20-minute hike to the highest point in Mazunte where you’ll enjoy 180-degree views of the horizon for the perfect sunset pics. With so much beauty at every turn, you’ll go to bed with a full heart and full camera roll.
Day 3
Free day in Mazunte — choose your own adventure in the jungle
Rise and shine to another majestic morning in Mazunte! Today is a free day to explore as you please. Spend the day at the beach or book an excursion on this Oaxacan adventure. Take an ATV jungle tour and discover the hidden beauty deep within trees or go rafting on the Copalita River and appreciate nature while maneuvering through level 2 rapids. Whether you want to bum around the town, check out the ecological cosmetics factory, or get wild with some physical activities, we’ll meet back up in the afternoon and head to our next destination.
A new day, a new place to stay
Pack your bags and head to Puerto Escondido where we’ll check into the hostel and explore another beach town in Oaxaca. This trendy accommodation features a chic pool and various community spaces for meeting new friends and taking IG-worthy pics. Grab dinner in town and enjoy another picturesque sunset on the coastline.
Day 4
Take a horseback odyssey through a dreamy landscape with a mezcal finale
Grab a hearty breakfast and prepare for a day of excitement as we make our way to a nearby village for a tour on horseback. Journey through the jungle and across the river of corn where you’ll witness the economic heart of Puerto Escondido in the form of livestock, papaya, coconut, corn, and peanuts. Passing the mangroves and diverse wildlife, you’ll arrive at Manialtepec Lagoon where the locals will help you boat across to Puerto Suelo beach. This untouched piece of heaven will give you the perfect spot to watch the sunset over the crystal sea as you sip a complimentary glass of mezcal. After an adventurous day, return to Selina and reflect on all the fun you’ve had this week.
Day 5
Saying goodbye after an adventure in Oaxaca
Five days came and went, and we hope you enjoyed all that Oaxaca had to offer! Have one last meal in this tranquil place before taking your private transfer to the airport. As you board the plane, think back on all the fun and start planning that next getaway. Until next time, hasta pronto!
