Journey to Serenity: Grief Healing Retreat in Tulum with Andrew J. Stillman

Your TourHero

Andrew-Stillman-profile

The first 18 years of my life were spent in the foothills of Yosemite, where my physical body felt confined to the limits of the forest, but my imagination took its time to develop and allow me to think big. My time throughout the Boy Scouts on my journey toward getting Eagle taught me about resilience, challenge, leadership, and the payoff of hard work.

Nowadays, I’ve got my hand dipped in a hundred projects, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I went from writing alone in my bedroom in the woods to contributing to some of the most well-known publications in the world. I’ve been invited on press trips to explore parts of the world I would have never dreamed of attaining in my youth. I’ve even trained Olympic athletes on the mat and helped challenge their growth.

I love to share my knowledge, passion, and skills with the world, so I look forward to hearing how I can serve you best.

From there, you'll enjoy a comfortable group transfer to our beautiful accommodation in the heart of Tulum at the Pepem Eco Luxury Hotel. After checking in and settling into your luxurious surroundings, you'll have some free time to explore the natural beauty of the area or simply unwind in the tranquil atmosphere.

In the evening, we'll come together for a grief circle and introductions, providing a safe and supportive space for you to share your intentions and begin the healing process. This experience will be followed by a delicious dinner, prepared with love and care, allowing you to connect with your fellow participants in a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Day 2 · August 23, 2024

Denial and Anger: Yoga, breathwork, and a Temazcal ceremony will help us acknowledge, release, and heal

Rise and shine to the sounds of the jungle. Day two is all about embracing the healing process, exploring a range of emotions, and forging deeper connections with yourself and your fellow participants. We are here to guide and support you on this transformative journey in the serene setting of Tulum. We’ll begin our morning with a rejuvenating meditation and breathwork session, setting a peaceful and introspective tone for the day ahead. After, a wholesome breakfast awaits, providing you with the energy you need to engage in the day's activities.

The next few hours are yours and yours alone. You’ll have the freedom to choose how you spend your free time, whether you opt for personal reflection or schedule a private session with Andrew to address your specific healing needs. (See add-ons for more information.) We’ll meet back up for a 90-minute yoga session that delves into the themes of denial and anger, offering a safe and supportive space to work through these complex emotions.

In the afternoon, we invite you to participate in a Temazcal ceremony – a sacred Mexican sweat lodge experience. This ancient ritual carries deep significance, symbolizing rebirth, purification, and transformation, aligning perfectly with our journey of healing from grief. As the day unfolds, we’ll come together once more in the form of a grief circle, sharing experiences, emotions, and connections that strengthen the bonds within the group. The evening concludes with a delectable dinner, fostering further moments of camaraderie among retreat participants.

Day 3 · August 24, 2024

Bargaining and Depression: Open your heart with yoga, cacao, and ample time for sharing

Your third day at the retreat is all about finding balance, connection, and inner peace as you continue your healing journey through grief. The morning begins with a calming meditation and breathwork session, setting a positive and grounded tone for what lies ahead. After nourishing your body with a satisfying breakfast, you'll have some time on the beach to soak up the sun, play in the waves, and feel a connection to Mother Nature.

Today, our yoga session focuses on the themes of bargaining and depression, where you'll be guided through these emotions with compassion and care. We’ll also participate in a sacred cacao ceremony, a deeply meaningful experience known for its ability to open the heart, promote introspection, and foster connections – both with your inner self and your fellow retreat attendees.

The day continues with another heartfelt grief circle, where you can express your thoughts, emotions, and progress on your healing journey, finding support and understanding within the group. Dinner follows, offering another opportunity for camaraderie and connection.

Day 4 · August 25, 2024

Acceptance: Cenote swims, yoga, and delicious meals begin to close out our Mexican retreat

Our last full day at the retreat begins with a tranquil morning meditation and breathwork session, followed by a nourishing breakfast to prepare for the day's experiences. Our highlight today is a memorable cenote excursion, immersing you in the natural beauty and mysticism of these ancient sinkholes. Swim, cleanse, and soak up the ancient energy of this sacred place.

In the afternoon, you'll have the freedom to choose between free time for personal reflection or a private session tailored to your specific healing needs. From here, we’ll come back together for our final yoga session focusing on acceptance, which will guide you towards embracing the present moment and your own journey moving forward.

As the sun sets, our day culminates in a heartfelt grief circle, providing a supportive space to share experiences and emotions one last time. We’ll then come together for a delightful farewell dinner, sharing stories of our time here and reflecting on all the inner work we’ve accomplished. Relish this final night under a star-filled sky.

Day 5 · August 26, 2024

Say goodbye to Mexico and the new community you’ve made for life

As our Tulum retreat comes to a close, we invite you to embrace the final day of your healing journey with gratitude and reflection. We’ll start our morning with a serene meditation and breathwork session, allowing you to center yourself before moving forward. Following this grounding activity, enjoy a leisurely breakfast with your fellow participants, savoring the last moments of connection. After, it's time for final goodbyes as we bid farewell to the friends and connections you've made during this transformative retreat.

Our group transfer to Cancun International Airport awaits, providing a comfortable journey back as you reflect on the growth and healing you've experienced.
