Details

Day 1

Welcome to Rome — the city of food, culture, history and romance!

Welcome to Rome, and prepare yourself for an unrivalled cultural experience! One of Europe’s most beautiful cities, Rome is a feast for the senses. You’ll find historical architecture around every corner, the aroma of exquisite cooking wherever you tread and some of the finest wine the world has to offer. Once you’ve landed, catch an airport bus or train to the city, take in your surroundings and prepare your taste-buds for a scrumptious welcome dinner — there’s no pizza like a genuine Italiano one!

Day 2

Cultural sights by day, cultural drinks by night

Suitably refreshed from your first night’s sleep in the city, it’s time to get to know Rome! You’ll take in an open-top ‘hop on, hop off’ bus tour and travel past the likes of the Vatican City, Roman Forum and Sistine Chapel. Stay on board for the duration, or hop off to explore your favorite places on foot. Once you’ve lined your stomach with some pasta or pizza, head to the Colosseum to start the bar crawl. With some free drinks to start the evening, you’ll get to see Rome by night and taste some of its fabulous beer, wine and cocktails. Enjoy a mix of city flavors once the sun’s gone down, from quaint, traditional pubs to uber-hip wine bars and clubs. Viva Italia!

Day 3

Visit the Colosseum, the world’s largest ancient amphitheater!

Shake off your sleepy bar crawl head and prepare yourself for one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. Rome’s Colosseum is the city’s most iconic symbol, an oval amphitheater which once held as many as 80,000 spectators. You’ll learn all about its history as a gladiatorial arena, its damage from earthquakes, and modern-day status as a tourist hub and religious symbol. And just think of all the famous Roman emperors who have set foot in this famous space! To top off your day, take a sunset trip on the River Tiber and enjoy a complimentary glass of wine and Roman appetizers. This unforgettable journey runs from the shores of Ostia to the very heart of Rome, passing by beautiful places such as the Isola Tiberina, Piazza del Popolo, Castel S’Angelo, Vatican City, and many more.

Day 4

Full day tour to Mount Vesuvius and Pompeii!

A volcano combined with an ancient city makes for an unforgettable road trip, as you’ll travel to Naples for a full-day excursion. Although there’s been no eruption since 1944, Mount Versuvius is very much alive, and you’ll learn all about its history and how it covered the city of Pompeii in 79 AD. The city lay untouched until 1748 when it was excavated, and was found to be largely in one piece. Today, excavation work continues, and visitors to the site are able to discover an ancient city that lay completely silent for nearly 2,000 years. Return to Rome for one last evening in the capital.

Day 5

Experience the beautiful Vatican City

Wake up to a fabulous final day in Italy’s capital city and prepare yourself for the Vatican City. The Vatican is a city-state surrounded by Rome, and the home of the Pope, Head of the Catholic Church. Here you’ll see some of the grandest sites Europe has to offer, from the world famous St Peter’s Basilica to the Sistine Chapel, complete with its Michelangelo artwork adorning its ceiling. And don’t forget - you’ll be able to tell your friends that you’ve visited the smallest country on Earth - the Vatican City is just 0.49 sq km! After a fabulous stroll around the Vatican’s sites, grab a bite to eat and plan your evening – there’s plenty still to do and see if your party legs are still working!

Day 6

Farewell to Rome, until we meet again!

Prepare to bid arrivederci to your Italian adventure, transfer to the airport and say your goodbyes. We hope you come back to visit us again soon!
