Hello, I'm Roxy! I love exploring new cities! My dream trip is all about discovering hidden gems and less-trodden tourist spots, while making new friends along the way, of course. I'm excited to get some like-minded peeps to join me on this tour to Italy. Let's all explore the secrets of Naples together... and also have fun trekking up a volcano and going kayaking!!!

Italy > Naples Italian Adventure with Vesuvius and Pompeii

Combining city, coast, countryside and mountains, Naples is one of Italy’s highlights. Steeped in history, the city dates back to 2 BC, and you’ll find all manner of ancient architecture dotted around its winding streets. There’s also a fascinating side to Naples below your feet, with miles of underground tunnels existing just below the surface! You’ll get to experience the city by electric bike as well as on the water, visit the ancient city of Pompeii and hike to the top of Mount Vesuvius close by. Moreover, in the very city where pizza was invented, you’ll learn all the secrets of the authentic Italian recipe and get to create your own. Anyone looking for a varied and exciting introduction to Italy will find Naples an absolute delight!

Day 1
Welcome to Naples, a truly historical city of culture and adventure — enjoy a delicious welcome dinner

Benvenuti a Napoli! Once you’ve checked out of Naples International Airport, grab a taxi or airport shuttle bus and make your way to the heart of the city. Settle in at your accommodation and, to revive yourself after your journey, have a delightful espresso to awaken your senses — you’re in Italy now, after all! You’ll have a free afternoon to relax, hang out with your fellow travelers, or head out to exaplore the city. Naples is one of Italy’s liveliest destinations, and you’ll find a host of beautiful architecture on your doorstep, with many bars and restaurants lining the streets — the perfect place to people-watch and take in your home for the next few days. Then, in the evening, get ready for a welcome dinner and your first bite of Naples’ most-famous dish: pizza!

Day 2
Explore Naples on two wheels on a special guided electric bike tour

Wake up refreshed and remind yourself that you’re in Italy! A fabulous start to your adventure lies ahead. Two wheels are a great way to see the city, and you’ll get a great introduction to its various highlights on a guided electric bike tour. From the historic center onwards, you’ll pass by the likes of the Royal Palace and Real Teatro di San Carlo, the oldest opera house in the world. You’ll also pass the city’s oldest castle in the Castel dell’Ovo and hear its many legends. Finally, you’ll take to the coast and earn yourself a closer glimpse of Mount Vesuvius. Suitably acquainted with your new surroundings, you’ll have a free evening to rest those legs or go exploring the city by night.

Day 3
Hop into a kayak and get a unique view of Naples from the water

After yesterday’s two-wheeled adventures, take to the water for a completely different view of Naples. This guided sea kayaking tour takes you along the Posillipo coast, beginning at the Bay of Green Rocks. Visit the famous Marechiaro Village and its mysterious archaeological ruins dating back to Roman times. You'll also traverse the Wild Bay of Trentaremi, and the protected marine area of Gaiola. Once you're done for the day, enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure! We're sure you're hungry after all that kayaking, so feel free to fill up on pasta and perhaps enjoy an aperitivo before venturing out into the evening and discovering the rest of the city on your own.

Day 4
Embark on a day trip to Mount Vesuvius and Pompeii, then return for a fun pizza making class!

A volcano combined with an ancient city makes for a glorious road trip! Today, you’ll travel out of the city center for a full-day excursion. Although there’s been no eruption since 1944, Mount Versuvius is very much alive, and you’ll learn all about its history and how it buried the ancient city of Pompeii in a thick carpet of ash in 79 AD. The city lay untouched until 1748 when it was excavated, and found to be largely in one piece. Today, excavation work continues, and visitors to the site are able to discover an ancient city that lay completely silent for nearly 2,000 years. You’ll also enjoy a hike to the summit of Mount Vesuvius and get to peer inside its crater (let’s hope it’s sleeping on that day!). Return to Naples and get ready to learn all the secrets of true authentic Italian pizza in your cooking class — and best of all, you’ll get to eat the results!

Day 5
See the city... below the surface!

Having already seen the city on via electric bike and kayak, it's time for something different today! Climb down over 100 steps and grab a unique perspective of Naples from below. The city’s 450 kilometers of underground tunnels were originally dug by the Ancient Greeks to build Naples in 4 BC. They were later used by the Romans as aqueducts and then as bomb shelters for the local people during World War II. You’ll learn all about the history on your tour and even see the remains of a theater and Emperor Nero’s dressing room. Take a good breath of air when you get back to the surface and prepare for one last night in the city of Naples.

Day 6
Arrivederci Naples, remember us always!

All great adventures must come to an end, but let this be the start of a wonderful relationship with Italy! Make your own way to the airport and bid farewell to your fellow travelers, but remember to always keep us in your heart. Viva Italia!
