Hi, I’m Dev! I am the founder of Bija Yoga Institute and an international yoga educator. For over a decade, I’ve had the privilege of teaching yoga across the globe, leading retreats, workshops, and teacher trainings where people connect deeply both with the practice and with themselves.
My own yoga journey began at seventeen, during a time of deep introspection and longing for clarity. Not long after I had left behind my college studies in religion and education to fully dedicate myself to yoga. What began as a personal passion grew into a lifelong calling to guide others on their paths of practice and self-discovery.
At Bija Yoga Institute, we honor the eight-limb system of Aṣṭāṅga Yoga and draw inspiration from the Ghosh and Iyengar lineages. Our programs bring traditional teachings to life in ways that are both practical and deeply transformative, helping students embody yoga as a way of life.
Join Dev Watson, founder of Bija Yoga Institute, and our global team of expert teaching faculty for a 200-hour yoga alliance certified yoga teacher training on the sacred island of Bali, Indonesia. This program's lead trainers are Dev Watson, Tori Lubecki, and Anya Beaumont.
At Bija Yoga Institute, we believe in a truly immersive approach to yoga education. Over the course of 22 powerful days, this all-inclusive training program invites you to step away from life’s distractions and fully embrace the practice of yoga. Surrounded by like-minded individuals who share your passion, you’ll live and breathe the teachings in an environment designed for profound connection, growth, and self-discovery.
Our curriculum is grounded in the eight limb system of Aṣṭāṅga Yoga and traditional yogic philosophy, while embracing modern perspectives to make the concepts clear and accessible to today's practitioners. Your studies will include, classical āsana, prāṇāyāma, meditation, mantra, historical texts, energetic anatomy, teaching techniques, sequencing, and more. Through a balance of lectures, practice, and experiential learning, our trainees develop a deep understanding of yoga as both a discipline that can be taught and an overarching way of life. They not only develop effective teaching practices but also learn how to embody the principles of yoga in their day to day experiences, emerging as confident teachers and knowledgeable ambassadors of yoga.
Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Bali’s lush landscapes and sacred energy, this training is the perfect setting for transformation. Whether your goal is to deepen your personal practice or step boldly into the role of a yoga teacher, this immersive training will leave you inspired, empowered, and prepared to share the gift of yoga with the world.
Upon completion, you’ll receive Yoga Alliance accreditation and join a global network of supportive, like-minded yogis united by a shared commitment to the practice and teachings of yoga.
