Welcome to Guayaquil, Ecuador’s colorful port city that’s known as the gateway to beautiful Pacific beaches and the famous Galapagos Islands. Downtown houses, cafes, art galleries, and a plethora of history you’ll learn about on this trip. Stop by the Plaza Guayarte for street art and great food, walk the boardwalk along the shoreline, relax in one of the many beautiful parks, and stop by Captain Morgan’s pirate ship for a few pics. After you get checked in at the hostel, wander the streets until it’s time for our welcome dinner to get acquainted with the group and kick off the journey with some stellar Ecuadorian food.
Good morning! After a hearty breakfast at the hostel, we’ll embark on a group biking tour and make our way through the Dalí countryside. We’ll stop at the Sanctuary of Santa Narcisa de Jesús and head out to the rice paddies, the heart of Daule’s economy. We’ll ride off the beaten path until we get to El Cerrito for more pristine vistas and end our tour with a walk along the boardwalk of the Daule River. After an invigorating ride, enjoy the rest of the day to explore the city and check out all the innovative gastronomy in the area.
Rise and shine, travelers! Today, we head to Puerto El Morro by boat to explore the idyllic mangroves for birdwatching and the chance to see bottlenosed dolphins known as bufeos. Take all the pictures you can on this educational boat ride where we’ll learn about the history of the area and the wildlife that resides there. After a stellar lunch, we’ll get up close and personal with the local dolphins in their natural habitat then head back to the city to freshen up at the hostel and hit the town for dinner, drinks, and good vibes with the group.
After a restful sleep, get ready to explore the jungles of Guayaquil on a nature reserve tour featuring incredible wildlife encounters of all kinds and a local guide who will teach you about Ecuador’s flora and fauna. After a thrilling trek through the lush trees, we’ll head to a cocoa plantation to learn the ins and outs of making chocolate. Breathe in the delicious aroma that fills the air, as you get to experience the production process. From here, we’ll head back to the city so the group can have one final night out before heading home.
After one last meal, it’s time to hit the road. We hope you had a stellar trip eating your way through the city and exploring the jungles of Ecuador. Take your transfer to the airport, and whether you’re headed home or on your next adventure, safe travels to all!
