Details

Day 1 · August 30, 2024

Make friends with sloths and relax in a hot spring on your first day

Welcome to Costa Rica, where thriving nature embraces you at every corner. Get ready to experience the thrill of the outdoors! Upon arrival, a group transfer will whisk you away towards your hideout amidst the verdant jungles of Costa Rica. Enveloped by greenery, Arenal Springs Resort & Spa is the perfect place to launch our adventures.

Once you get to the hotel, check-in and get comfortable. The first order of business is to fuel up with a sumptuous lunch served at the resort. It's been a long day of traveling and moving around, which is why after lunch, you're going to learn how to take it slow from nature's best — sloths. In Sloths Territory, you'll get to attend an educational talk and have the opportunity to meet sloths from a short distance away. You'll learn all about them — their natural history, why they are here, how to keep them out of harm's way, the functions of the rescue center, and much more.

In the late afternoon, it's time to truly pamper yourself at a hot spring. Soak in the naturally warm waters at Ecotermales, loosen up your knots, and enjoy the serenity of your surroundings. A nourishing dinner will be served at a rustic restaurant found.

What to bring: hiking shoes, sunscreen, binoculars, and a raincoat.

Day 2 · August 31, 2024

Ever wondered where your coffee and chocolate come from?

Good morning, travelers! As the residents of Costa Rica's jungle begin to sing the tunes of nature, you start your day with a delicious breakfast. Once you're fueled up and ready to go, we'll head out on our first excursion of the day: a canyoning adventure. Working with Pure Trek, an experienced operator, we will head into a canyon and rappel down waterfalls, try out rock climbing, and more. Along the way, you may even get the chance to see some incredible animals like monkeys, toucans, and sloths. Make sure to bring quick-dry clothing, secure shoes, a Go-Pro (if you have it!) and a change of clothes for after the adventure.

In the afternoon, you'll go to the source and learn about how two popular food products — chocolate and coffee — are produced. The tour kicks off with a coffee tour, where you'll learn about its wonderful history in the world and in Costa Rica. You'll see the processes that coffee goes through, from seed to final product. The coffee experience will be followed by a chocolate tour, where you will smell delightful aromas while learning about the stories behind chocolate production. You may even get to try a cup or two of the beverages! The enriching day filled with indulgent flavors will be capped off with a delectable dinner back at the resort.

What to bring: comfortable clothing, hiking shoes, sunscreen, hat, insect repellent, and a raincoat.

Day 3 · September 1, 2024

Tackle the rapids along Balsa River

Our time in nature so far has been harmonious. However, it's time to take it up a notch and take on the challenges of the outdoors. After a refreshing breakfast, you'll set off for the rapids. Guides will be with you throughout to ensure your safety. Halfway through the rafting trail, you'll pause to recharge and enjoy delicious tropical fruits. At the end of the adventure, dry towels and cold drinks will welcome you before you head to a private restaurant to enjoy a well deserved lunch.

After experiencing the thrill of whitewater rafting, you'll head back to the resort where you can relax for the rest of the day.

What to bring: comfortable clothes, change of clothing, sunscreen, and water shoes (no flip flops).

Day 4 · September 2, 2024

Immerse yourself in nature at Tenorio Volcano National Park

After spending three days amidst the lush greenery of La Fortuna, you are going to swap the jungle for beaches. Enjoy one last tropical breakfast before checking out of the accommodation. A group transfer will take you from La Fortuna to Tamarindo, the beautiful coastal town in Guanacaste. Before hitting the sun and surf, you'll stop at Tenorio Volcano National Park. At the park, you'll be able to fully immerse yourself in the ecosystem of a tropical forest. Spot palm trees, ferns, and orchids, among other fauna. White-faced monkeys, anteaters, pumas, tapirs, and peccaries are also known to be residents of the habitat at the park. Catch the majestic Rio Celeste waterfall pour into a marble blue lake.

After soaking in the sights and sounds of nature at the park, you'll continue to make your way towards Tamarindo. When the verdure landscape fades to blue and white, you'll know you're near Tamarindo. Upon arrival at the beach resort, settle in and spend the rest of the day relaxing to the soothing sounds of the sea breeze.

Day 5 · September 3, 2024

A beach day and an ocean adventure at sunset

As the morning rays of the sun begin shimmering off the waves, treat yourself to a delicious breakfast. So far, you've conquered rapids, made friends with sloths, and immersed yourself in the great outdoors. Today, we will slow things down so that you can relax and enjoy perfect beach vibes at Playa Conchal! Swim in the sea, sunbathe, or play beach volleyball. The day is yours!

In the afternoon, we will come together so that we can close out the day with a catamaran tour. Departing from the Flamingo Marina area, we will sail away to quiet beaches where we can snorkel, paddleboard, and kayak. Search for graceful marine creatures and soak up the sheer beauty of the tropical evening as the sky springs to color as the sun begins to shrug behind the horizon. A buffet dinner will accompany the adventure, so eat up and watch the sunset before we return to shore!

Day 6 · September 4, 2024

One last day to enjoy Costa Rica to the fullest

Your week-long escape into the embrace of nature in Costa Rica is coming to an end. On your final full day, enjoy it to its fullest! If you haven't had enough of the beach, head over with your beach towel and soak in all that vitamin D. You can also head out of the resort and explore the vibrant beach town. Spend quality time with your friends, and have a blast!

Day 7 · September 5, 2024

Alexa, Play 'See You Again' by Wiz Khalifa

It's been a week of adventure in the tropics and fun by the coast. As you wake up and enjoy your last breakfast for the trip, you'll be filled with nostalgia for the days past. If you're feeling a little down now that it's time to go home, remember that it's the people that make the memories sweet. After breakfast, check out of the accommodation and board a transfer to the airport. We hope you'll head home with fond memories of Costa Rica and a bunch of friends that you'll love to keep for a long time. Take care, and see you soon!
