Day 1
Welcome to high-energy Brazil! Say hello to the vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro and get exploring!
We’re so excited to have you here in Brazil, ready to take on the incredible city of Rio de Janeiro. Upon arriving at the airport, you’ll be privately transferred to your accommodation. After checking in, don’t get too comfortable just yet — you have a free day to explore Rio to your heart’s content. Boasting stunning architecture, beautiful beaches, and unbeatable nightlife, Rio will surely capture your heart! Marvel at the world-famous colossal statue of Christ the Redeemer overlooking the city from the summit of the 709-meter Corcovado, enjoy the best beaches at your leisure, or visit the hilltop district of Santa Teresa for its charming, arty vibe with its quirky cocktail bars and chic boutique hotels. There are plenty of excellent spots to check out!
Day 2
Enjoy a free morning in the city — have some fun in the sun!
Rise and shine, it’s time for another delightful exploration of Brazil’s most epic city! Enjoy the morning at your own leisure — there are many optional tours to embark on. For incredible views, a visit to the emblematic Sugarloaf Mountain (which can be scaled via cable car) will no doubt delight! For the adventurous, hike through the forested Tijuca National Park to reach the summit where the Christ the Redeemer statue stands (or take the cog railway up, if you want a shortcut). For the more laid-back, sunbathe along the shores of Copacabana Beach and Ipanema Beach!
Experience Rio de Janeiro’s nightlife scene with a local who knows all the greatest spots
The day isn’t over yet! In fact, the fun has only just begun. Tonight, you get to experience Rio de Janeiro’s nightlife like a true local on a private tour with someone who knows the scene. You’ll be avoiding the tourist traps to hit up some hidden gems and local-favorite live music venues to experience the relaxed and friendly atmosphere of Rio’s nightlife spots. The itinerary varies according to the day of the week and event schedule of the night, but we guarantee you’ll visit at least two different venues on this tour. These can range from traditional bars to outdoor samba parties to clubs with live music (playing samba or forró), where the locals go to let loose. A welcome beer or “caipirinha” is included!
Day 3
Time for some island fun — off we go to Ilha Grande, a true slice of Brazilian paradise!
Today, it’s a different kind of adventure. We’ll leave the heart of the city behind and head to the paradise island of Ilha Grande, the favorite weekend getaway destination for the inhabitants of Rio de Janeiro! This gorgeous island is located about 150 kilometers away from Rio and requires a flexiboat journey to get there (see departure schedules). We’ll arrive on the island in time for you to check into your accommodation and then spend the rest of the day relaxing or discovering the area at your leisure. You’ll find that Ilha Grande is a paradise, with its white-sand beaches, crystal-clear waters, lush forest trails, rocky capes, and calm lagoons. Departure schedules: 8/9 am — arrival around 1 pm; 11 am/12 pm — arrival around 4 pm; 2/3 pm — arrival around 6:30 pm.
Day 4
Discover the idyllic Lopes Mendes Beach
This morning, it’s all about taking advantage of Ilha Grande’s paradise island vibes! We’ll board a boat at the Vila Abraão pier to Mangues Beach (see departure schedules), and from there we’ll hike for about 20 – 30 minutes to get to the gorgeous Lopes Mendes Beach, a remote and quiet beach located on the southeast corner of the island. This impressive beach stretches 2.4 kilometers and features a small creek that runs into the ocean at one end, in addition to a small chapel and a mosaic on a large buoy created by artist Silvio Cavalheiro. We’ll spend the day at this beach to enjoy its fine white sand, crystal-clear waters, and delightful waves. Those hungering for a little more adventure can hike along a nearby trail for another 20 minutes to get to the beautiful and secluded Santo Antonio Beach. Be sure to bring some water with you on this excursion — there are no kiosks on Lopes Mendes Beach, but there’s one at Pouso Beach, our next stop, where you can have a snack and a refreshing drink. This tour will take about 6 hours in total. Departure schedules (to be confirmed): 9:30 am, 10:30 am, or 11:30 am (returning at 2:30 pm, 3:30 pm, or 4:30 pm).
Day 5
Time to bid farewell to Brazil
How time flies! We hope you’ve enjoyed your time in Brazil. After checking out of your accommodation, you will be transferred via shared service directly to Rio Airport, which includes your return flexiboat journey (see departure schedules) and land transfer. Until next time — we hope to see you again soon! Departure schedules: 10 am — arrival between 2 – 2:30 pm; 1:30 pm — arrival between 5 – 5:30 pm; 5:30 pm – arrival between 8:30 – 9 pm.
