Howdy guys, I’m Nile and I’m crazy about cruises! I’ve only done a little sailing on my travels so far and I can’t wait to experience ocean life on a full multi-day voyage. I’ve always wanted to visit the Caribbean as the photos look simply amazing and there’s so much to do, from exploring ancient ruins to partying on the beaches and seeing the coral reefs, it’s my idea of a heavenly vacation! White sands, blue seas, magical sunshine and spectacular sunsets make the Western Caribbean a prime location for a 6-night cruise! You’ll begin your journey in Miami, with your first port of call being the bijou Bahamian island of Bimini. This is a stop that more than makes up for its size with the number of activities on offer, from beachlife to snorkeling and a vibrant town to explore. After a day at sea, you’ll dock in Mexico’s beautiful Costa Maya, home to jungle, Mayan ruins and the Great Mayan Reef. From here, we’ll continue to Cozumel, a place full of archeological wonder, the bohemian town of San Miguel and some truly stunning coastline. And throughout your adventure, you’ll have ample time to relax and party both on and off the ship. Our wonderful Western Caribbean cruise is the stuff dreams are made of!
Welcome to Miami, a city of magic offering high-end gastronomy, pristine beaches, and vibrant nightlife. Whether you’re flying into the area a few days early to enjoy the beaches or heading to the cruise ship right off the plane, you’re guaranteed to have the time of your life on this trip! Why not take a day to explore the local sights before leaving dry land? There’s the trendy art deco district of South Beach, Calle Ocho in Little Havana, or the glamorous neighborhoods of Coral Gables and Coconut Grove. We’ll depart from Miami at 4:30 pm, giving you plenty of time to discover all the amenities on the impressive Jewel of the Seas cruise ship and enjoy the fabulous sunset as you leave the United States behind.
Wake up to your first destination: the Bahamas! It’s right about now that the reality of a luxury cruise will sink in, as you disembark from the ship and get a taste of island paradise. Bimini is a real jewel in the crown of the region, and a water-lover's delight. Want to get splashing? Why not add scuba diving and snorkeling to your day’s agenda? That is, if you can peel yourself away from tanning all day on the beautiful beach! Head inland to Alice Town and you’ll find some local delights on the menu — freshly sourced from the ocean — and be sure to try the local Bahamian Sands beer. Look out for the town’s craft center, selling wood carvings and woven souvenirs, before heading back to the boat for a 5:00 pm sail.
Good morning, cruisers! Today, experience pure serenity as you glide across the ocean in pursuit of your next destination. You’ll have the entire day to relax, unwind, or get stuck into the ship’s supply of champagne! If you’re feeling like some sporty competition, head to the Sports Court for some basket or volleyball — a great way to get to know your traveling companions! Or why not head to the Solarium and enjoy a whirlpool bath, and treat yourself to a massage at the Spa & Fitness Center? Of course, if you’re feeling in the party spirit, you’re more than welcome to unwind by the pool and sample a few of the ship’s selection of cocktails. Make the most of the day!
Today you’ll awaken on the Yucatan Peninsula. This coastal paradise features some of the softest sand and bluest seas you’ll ever witness! You’ll also have a vast choice of activities to add to your vacation if you’re feeling adventurous. Travel to see ancient Mayan ruins, take a journey through the jungle, enjoy a wellness retreat or go swimming with dolphins. You’ll also have a private beach club to explore, and the Great Maya Reef just off the coast is the second-largest reef in the world — a must for snorkeling enthusiasts. During your time on Costa Maya, grab a michelada cocktail for something a little bit different. This mix of beer, lime, tomato juice and chili may sound a little crazy, but two sips in and you’ll likely fall in love for life!
Cozumel is the best of all worlds. You can have a relaxing day on the pristine shoreline or get adventurous and see everything the island has to offer. The region is famous for its snorkeling and diving, and the coral reefs are nothing short of spectacular. Look out for the majestic sea wall murals too and get ready with your camera! Go inland and you’ll have the island’s town of San Miguel to discover a tranquil setting where life moves at a gentle pace. Just beyond the town, there’s the option of exploring some ancient Mayan ruins with a trip to the San Gervasio Archaeological Site. However you plan to spend your day on dry land, be sure to head back to the ship by 5:00 pm and get set for a well-deserved dry martini and dinner.
As you sail across the ocean today, take a moment to reflect on your adventure so far, and maybe count the number of cocktails you’ve left to try! Now’s the time to fill in your journal and upload some photographs, or dive into the ship’s activities! Be sure to try a new restaurant or two, explore the bars and lounges, and if you haven’t already done so, make the most of the entertainment and facilities. The pool area transforms into an open-air cinema after-dark; you’ll have musical and theatrical performances to choose from, and the Tango Buenos Aires dance performance is simply incredible! Make the most of your last night on the ocean, for tomorrow you’ll awaken back home.
